only one in lederhosen

We totally didn't record this on Halloween. Thankfully there’s no way to ever know. We start with a murder nextdoor and everyones favorite albino farm. We also talk about the overly polite serial killer and some of our favorite spooky movies.

Collin  00:05

Welcome to Oh, brother, a podcast of three realtors trying to figure it all out with your hosts, Brandon Cohen and Aaron

00:14

on this week's show.

Collin  00:15

Only one in later hosen Hello. Hello. Hello. Aaron. Aaron, can you hear me? Ah, Aaron, I can hear you. No, come back.

01:11

Wait, can you hear me now? Again?

Collin  01:13

I think there's a mic. Now you're on mute. Why are you muted?

Brandon  01:19

I don't know.

01:22

Myself.

Aaron  01:23

Okay. Trying that does that better?

Collin  01:26

Yeah, I can hear you now. Okay, good. That was weird. All right. never

01:31

done it before.

Collin  01:35

I think some of that was on my into I was switching inputs A little too fast. And yeah.

Aaron  01:42

Because like, usually it has the screen or has like your face.

01:47

And then,

Aaron  01:49

but it wasn't it was muted, but I had to like, swipe over. And it says speaking and I press the button for some reason.

Collin  01:57

Oh, interesting.

Brandon  01:59

I like it.

02:02

Dear friend.

Brandon  02:05

Hello, boy.

Collin  02:09

Oh, my goodness.

02:11

Very sorry. Sorry. Sorry. Sorry. Yeah, hello. What are we doing? What do we got on?

Collin  02:18

Um, I don't know. I'm writing down the date.

02:22

Now. Do all the news.

Collin  02:29

Child Roku, and I've got to keep an eye on the front porch. With that dog coming? Who knows when?

Aaron  02:39

Yeah, so what do you what is happening? What are you doing? Oh, well, I

Collin  02:43

mean, we're dog. I'm dog sitting.

02:45

Yeah.

Collin  02:46

But I thought he had originally said Oh, he's going to be here at like, I don't know. Like, when he dropped off the dog. He was like one o'clock but then an attack to was like three o'clock. And then at 247 he said, Actually, it's going to be four o'clock. Oh, cool.

03:06

Yeah, I was like,

03:09

Cool.

Aaron  03:11

All right. There's kind of waiting on him just to get there.

Brandon  03:16

Yeah, basically. That's what I'm thing. What a dog. Is it? A nice dog dog. It's got four legs. And you know,

Aaron  03:31

I don't know care. Okay. Very nice. Very dog. So have you I like it. I like it. Oh, what other dogs do you got with you? Are you watching

03:45

multiple dogs?

03:46

Or does that dog? That dog? Oh, nice.

Collin  03:50

Yeah, it was supposed to be Mia and saidI. But then Sadie's stayed at on else's hours. And Mia came us. Yeah.

04:03

Girl. That's exciting. News. Oh, yeah, we've I've as I'm doing that, that's, that's my two days. And I get your two day stuff. And I'm

Collin  04:20

cleaning all of the upstairs. carpets. Fun. Oh, okay. I know real, real cool. Cool of me.

Aaron  04:30

Where's the the rest of the family?

Collin  04:34

their dad? They went to

04:36

Oh, are they okay?

Collin  04:38

Yeah, they went down to dad's. Most I mean, mostly just because it was gonna be a great weekend and to be outside. And then yeah, early, because we still had dogs here. I was like, Well, you know, like, if it's kind of hard to clean carpets with little children running around. True. True. Yeah. So it was like okay, well, we'll just I cleaned the whole upstairs and the stairs and get all of that done. While they're while they're down there, so that's Ah,

05:11

I like it. Okay.

05:13

Yes. Many very nice one stone.

Brandon  05:17

There was actually just another spider in the house. All right.

Collin  05:27

Oh, you know, I mean, the real story to see here Oh, yeah, other than that we're not doing a whole lot.

05:44

I am. Oh.

Collin  05:48

So dogs hat last weekend, more dog setting stories because these are fun dogs that last weekend owners were out of town owners come back home on Wednesday, again knock on their door. It is a police officer. Police officer says have you seen anybody? If you see anything suspicious over at your neighbor's house? And she was like, No, we just got back from a trip. Our dog sitter was over here, though. And they're like, great. Could you give us their contact information? I was. So so she did that. And she called me and she was like, hey, just wanna let you know, I gave your contact information to this officer. Apparently, somebody's been murdered next door.

06:53

And then what happened?

Collin  06:57

I didn't answer she was like, you know. So I was. So it was kind of weird. Her dogs were staying at our house, but they still had a rabbit that needed to be checked on and fed once a day. So I was only going over once a day to check on the rabbit. And so she was like, you know, did you see anything? And I was like, No, I was only over at your house for like, 11 minutes at a time because that's how long it took me to check for packages on the front porch, to you know, cut the food and take the food out. And then I left right and take a picture and leave. And I said I honestly didn't even look over at that side. And you know, I she's like, you know, I she was we've lived here for 20 years, and I couldn't even tell you what color their front door is. So you know, I understand. Just like, oh my gosh.

Brandon  07:51

Oh, serious now.

08:02

So, cool stuff. Cool stuff.

Brandon  08:06

down. Oh, that's the right word for that. Please.

Collin  08:12

Yeah, the crazy stuff that you find you know that. But it's one of the things like Yeah. Unfortunately, that stuff happens. It's just crazy to think about that. Because they were they were like, oh, it happened Saturday or Sunday. Um, and it's like, oh, yeah, I was over there at least once a day. You know, I was over there once a day, both days. But I didn't see anything. So I haven't heard anything from it. I doubt if I will hear anything from the detective. Because the owner did say, you know, he was only over here once a day. Blah, blah. So probably not. But if I do, it'll be fine. Yeah.

08:49

Yeah.

08:52

Well, neat. That sounds fun for you.

Brandon  08:57

So note to self observe the surroundings more carefully. That's Yeah, well, it is. It is.

Collin  09:08

You know, it is one of those things where you're just like, Yeah, um, you know, I go over there and I'm vigilant. Especially whenever it's early morning or late at night, but I'm vigilant for like, my safety. Right I am looking kind of at the middle distance seeing if anything suspicious they're making sure the doors locked checking my back before I enter an exit. All that kind of stuff. I'm not really looking around going. Was that car here yesterday was you know, was that door open was nothing like that. Yeah, not how I go. Go in. But now it's like, you know, like, I guess, I guess.

Brandon  09:54

Yeah, that's wild, man. Holy cow.

Collin  09:57

I know. She said that. I was like, I thought he was

Brandon  10:01

Coming in Good grief.

Aaron  10:07

Economics good for an interesting Halloween story. But,

Collin  10:19

yeah, other than that, that's that's been my exciting week.

Brandon  10:23

Wow. Well, ah, yeah, you win. Okay. Got another than on that? Fine. I made graph. I guess that's all I got. What kind of graph?

10:46

bar graph line graph?

Brandon  10:48

Ah, yeah, we finished our burger. I think I talked about blood viscosity experiment thing on here that I talked about that baby remind us, man, I remember our photographer. Not. It was a it was our we kind of ended our thing on what that was about, like viscosity in relation to like lava and volcanoes and things. Sure. Right. And so we did a race where we did a, just like, I think I had six random things like basically condiments, ketchup, mustard, taco sauce, like just random stuff I had in the house. Except for the shampoo. I had some shampoo that nobody else was using. Because like, I'm gonna take this. And we just did a fluid race to talk about viscosity. So we had to like, see which one was gonna be we had to do our hypothesis about which one you think is gonna win. And then we just put them on a board. Right a big I bought by covered in trash bag, because I want to clean it up and put it on the table. And just like we started out flat, and we had groups in this time, it's 31. Guys lifted it up to almost vertical. And we timed how long it went to the piece of tape I had marked to the finish line because we didn't race and then we made a graph out of because graphing great for graphing, which is what we did yesterday I showed them the Halloween traditional video about the school ghost at the school like watch the allegedly school ghost. Oh, right. Okay, so there's uh, yeah, so they A long time ago, some of the kids and Susan made this like video like ghost hunting in school. Right? And it's really cringy. And super cheesy. And off, right? Well, it's great that kids love it, because it's just so ridiculous. But there are like these like urban legends in town. Right? What about the haunted school or whatever? Because there was like, allegedly. Well, not not even allegedly, like, there was like, all these were stories, but the day the school ghost is apparently named Dewey hangs out, does stuff.

13:14

That's what goes on. I see like decimal name,

Brandon  13:18

sort of two stories that have merged to like historical stories that have merged together to create some sort of like, you know, the legend of Dewey. And so, like, a bomb time ago, like 1940s, maybe the town doctor had his funeral in the gym. Because like, he was a town doctor, and he was like, super popular and everybody wants to come to his funeral. And none of the churches in town were big enough. So they had it in the gym. Okay, so that is part of the legend. Right. And another part of the legend is when they built the high school gym in like this 70s maybe, I think is when it was built. Like some one of the construction workers. Again, this is a legend because I've heard this story like six different ways. Okay, somehow construction accident guy falls off the roof. buys. Ah, right. Yeah, somehow these two legends have merged together to create school ghost thing, right.

14:34

Okay, though.

Brandon  14:37

It's just a bit of stuff, right? There's like layers. There's the ark, like custodians that legitimately say that they have been in school at night. And here, basketballs bouncing in the gym. And they go in there, and there's nobody there till dark lights are all off. That kind of stuff. Okay, right like random things like falling over. That kind of like stuff. So there are people who like legitimately like No, for real, though. And then there's other custodians for like bhagwad Gita. You know what I mean? It's very divisive, but they're good. I just showed the video to the kids and some of them are like, Yo, I'm not going to the gym anymore. The best part is that there's a there's a in the video, they go down because they're like, Oh, yeah, no, he hangs out in the basement. Right? And so just because it's a look, that is legitimately the creepiest room in the whole school, so they used it in the video is like a thing. And a half of the kids were like, there's a basement to talk about. So there's a, this school has this old boiler room from when that section of the school was built in the 1930s. Right, so under the we have two gyms, I should have made that clear earlier, that would make more sense listeners. Sorry, the the funeral was take that took place was in the old gymnasium, which is now where the elementary school kids play. The one where the death allegedly has occurred is in the high school gym. So there's it's down the thing a little bit. So we have two gyms. boiler room is basically underneath the old gym. And it is like you go down there, I've been down there once. It's this room. It's pretty good size room. And it's like, there's this pit in there. And it's currently full of water. Just because of like it leaks in there. Yeah, go bad. And so there's about a while when I was done in the summer is about a foot or so of water. Okay, maybe more in there. And it's just like, dank is nasty old concrete. And there's like weird stuff like in the water like old pieces of playground equipment and like trash and like breaks and stuff. And there's all these walls and all the walls and windows that were there have been bricked up. And then they back filled it in because there was a coal chute there where they would shovel it into the boiler, which was where the you know, they did all the heat and stuff from and then there's this massive hole that goes into the wall. This sort of disappears off into nothing, which is one of the main steam pipes. Right. It's legitimately a creepy place. And I took some of the kids down there in summer school. So there's a handful of kids in my class like one of the girls Wait,

Collin  17:40

wait, is

Brandon  17:41

that where we went? Summer schools like Yeah, she went.

Collin  17:51

Oh my gosh. So we score one for kribi base

Brandon  17:56

is great. The kids were like, wait a minute, is a basement. What are you talking about? Oh, yeah. It's legitimately creepy. Nasty. Okay. don't really want to go down there. It smells funny and is full of water most of the time. So that's the thing.

Collin  18:16

Yeah. But like

Brandon  18:22

as we did yesterday, it was my Halloween fun in the afternoon. Good times to watch this thing talks about the school ghost. So yes, I was more like, whatever. Like that's really cool. It's like Yep, never come back school again. Sorry.

18:40

Remote learning. Thanks.

18:42

Yeah.

Brandon  18:44

I'm good. Because again, it's one of those things where like, if depending on the staff member, you talk to you they're like, Oh, that's garbage. But if you like talk like the business teacher who's been there for a million years, like she was actually Susan's teacher, this is what we're talking about here. She's like, No, no, it's it's definitely real. Like what? Wait, what?

Collin  19:13

I remember that. I remember that section in Mr. Was that we did like haunted places in Missouri. Was that in high school? That was Mr. garrigan. Mr. Gary and right. We watched a video

Aaron  19:30

that that he had that was like the glide and and all that stuff. Remember that

Brandon  19:36

if girls spook like and does that count as Missouri? I always kind of dies Oklahoma.

Aaron  19:44

There is allegedly us there's a glide in my ama. But there's apparently another one in the Ozarks. probably somewhere one.

Brandon  19:52

It's fine, Brad, because I always heard it was down towards Oklahoma. I've never actually seen this Buddy, I don't know if it's like Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri, it's in the tri state area somewhere we don't actually know.

Aaron  20:07

When I was when I was still in Ohio, there are some of us that journey to search for the spook light. And because I obviously wanted to see, like if it was a real thing, and I remember we're all just kind of like, awkwardly standing on the road and like, a county sheriff pulls up and he's like, What are you all doing? Like, over trying to find the spook lights? He's like, the next road over like, Oh, thank you. And so we

Brandon  20:36

like he's like, yeah, she's over there. It's fine. Um, but I,

Aaron  20:42

I never, I never did anything else. But I knew a lot of my friends that went to the albino farm.

Brandon  20:52

Remember that? Kind of this as well? I never actually went there either.

Aaron  20:58

I heard Yeah, there is there's some of my friends that journeyed to the albino farm. Which I don't know where it is, but I just

Brandon  21:06

turned out that thing. Uh, I don't remember where it is. A kind of No. Like, I know it's out north of

21:21

what is that? Like?

Brandon  21:25

Your Highland milk is on Carney Street.

21:28

Yes,

Brandon  21:29

right. That's over. It's north of that little bit somewhere. Oh, yes. One Yes. Allegedly listeners for those of you not in the Springfield Missouri area, which is most of you I imagine. Hello, Germany. By the way. How's it going? Ah talks keep it up, keep Yeah, the the albino farmer legend is basically like, and jump in if I get this wrong, because I haven't heard this in a long time. I actually forgot about it till just right now. was like, there was a farm. Right. And then there was like a guy who was like that hand or something like a hired hand to work there. And he was like, a an albino individual. And he ended up murdering the family. Yes. That right? If something like

Aaron  22:27

that, if I remember correctly, it was something like it was like a Girl Scout camp or go that's a separate

Brandon  22:32

thing. That's separate. Gone. We'll come to that one next. Because I was thinking about that one too, as

Collin  22:38

well. So I hit so yeah, I entered. So there. I think there were two separate ones. I think there was the hatchet bridge where the guy murdered the family with the hatchet and if you stopped on the bridge, you would hear the thumping of the feet of the person who was hanged above it.

Brandon  22:53

That's what that is. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. You're supposed to like turn your car off and then like won't start again. Yeah,

Collin  22:59

right. Where are the feet from? And then the albino farm though I think there was like legends of the owner of the property conducting experiments on people with albinism in like, torturing them in his basement or something like that. I don't think that's what I remember that.

Brandon  23:22

I decided was killing the family. So maybe it's one of those tweets. Who knows? Yeah. You know what, it's probably all of those are all the rumors. All of those things. I wonder if I can Google Springfield he'll by no far. I don't know. Yeah, I can't.

Aaron  23:39

Cuz I, I think I was talking with Shelby about, like, we're talking about like, cryptids and things like that. And there was a guy that was that was like a psychology

Brandon  23:50

when I type it out by No, just so you know, the first thing that came into Google was albino from Springfield, Missouri,

Collin  23:54

hey, talk about Yo, Yo, what would

Brandon  23:58

boom you're the only one that talks about that. That's fine.

Aaron  24:02

So I I remember talking about about cryptids and things and believe it was Shall we were talking about like, you know, because like in you know, scout Sasquatch, and then there's the Arkansas like, swamp ape or something like that. But like in Missouri, we had the Ozark Howler? Yeah, heard of the Ozark antler? I don't believe so. Oh, well, you are missing out.

24:38

Hello? Yes.

Collin  24:39

Aaron.

24:40

Oh, he's so No,

Aaron  24:43

not really. I don't know. I don't know the full you still hear me?

Brandon  24:46

But I you know, I can't ID Hello.

24:50

I don't know what happened. Tell us about the Ozark Howler?

24:57

Is it me?

Brandon  24:59

Hello. No cuz I can still hear you. Oh it says he's still here.

25:06

Hey Aaron if you were talking with you or not I returned okay.

25:12

I returned from the Crypt was talking about Terry

Collin  25:19

Ozark howling howling

Aaron  25:21

yeah so it was it just something that there was like like one of those cryptid creatures like in those our area that you know had the nose like a strange howl that it did at the night and there's Google say about it because there's something specific

Collin  25:40

to the page for Ozark Howler. Yeah you got the creature is bear like in shape with gray colored shaggy coat. Received probably someone received photographs purported to be images of creature from a viewer. No claims that's like

Brandon  25:58

no, that's not very exciting.

26:00

Oh cryptids.fandom.com that'll have a much better explanation.

Brandon  26:05

Oh, definitely. Oh, yeah. It's

Collin  26:06

known as the Ozark black color. The blue, the night shade bear and the devil.

Brandon  26:13

What was that second one?

Collin  26:14

Ooh, ah, ah. Oh, but yeah, but that's what the heck Okay, terrifying.

Aaron  26:24

Yeah, man. So

Brandon  26:25

scary, scary name.

Collin  26:28

Who's coming forward?

Aaron  26:30

I think it's a reference to a Native American name, but

Collin  26:33

go on. Okay. It's typically described as bare size, thick body, stocky legs, black shag hair, glowing red eyes, prominent orange cries often described as being a combination of a wolf towel, an elk bugle and the laugh of a hyena.

Brandon  26:51

All right. Ah, there we go. Yeah, interesting. That's very interesting. Actually, this Oh, this back to the albino farm for a moment. Yes, it does appear that the hatchet legend of the hatchet bridge and the legend of the albino farm have merged into some sort of bizarre, singular story of interest that there is reference here. Collin. Yes. of a story about dungeons filled with albino people. Or possibly a albino colony. Or perhaps a caretaker that would scare people a caretaker for the house who was had albinism that would chase people away with an axe. So several strange

Collin  27:39

See, I said all of them deny very

Brandon  27:42

bizarre recordings of the same things of a we go. Bar.

Collin  27:53

Perfect. There you go. Go.

Brandon  28:00

Now, Aaron also brought up the Girl Scout camp thing that I don't actually remember that I just know. All I ever remember hearing about was Girl Scout camp equals bad. scary, but I didn't ever know why.

Aaron  28:12

Yes, no,

Collin  28:14

I think it was. I think if I remember correctly, it's alpha Lake Springfield.

Brandon  28:19

And I think it's right over there right by that railroad bridge thing. Yeah. I thought so. I thought it was over there in the woods. It's like an abandoned little thing. Yeah.

Collin  28:32

Yeah. And but i don't i don't know if that was ever an actual camp. Or but but I think the legend goes is that there was a camp of girls that were a Girl Scout troop was camping and they were all like brutally murdered while they were camping. And so now they're ghosts on that little area.

Brandon  28:54

Mm hmm. Let's Google hearted Girl Scout camp Springfield. Mo this apparently is actual thing. Yeah, like Springfield. k. Underground. ozarks.com. That's suitably Yes. This is a suitable website. Design. title. No offense. You haven't made this much. I know. Well, yeah, no, it doesn't actually say here. Just a bit. Yeah, it was some sort of cam cam okay.

29:40

When noca maybe?

Brandon  29:46

Well, no, the truth, unfortunately, is that there's never actually Girl Scout camp is filled with Girl Scouts were murdered. Oh,

29:52

what are they just covering it up?

30:01

So there you have it.

Collin  30:02

I know solves all of those with a quick Google. Why don't people do they go

Brandon  30:06

legendarily Girl Scout murder

Collin  30:09

allegedly, allegedly.

30:14

Anyway, all in

30:17

all this talk,

Collin  30:18

if the listeners couldn't tell we we may or may not be recording this on Halloween, it's not going to come out.

Brandon  30:25

It's true. Collin texted us and said or we could just record right now and then we started so yeah, like we're never like really prepared. But this one was like, oh, right now Okay, let's go.

Collin  30:39

I mean, I didn't help by leading with a story of an actual murder next to doors is

Brandon  30:43

best true. I did kind of solely the tone. Set the movie, it's fine. It goes with the stream of consciousness of the show anyway, so it's fine. It's just it's on brand, so it's fine. Don't worry about it.

Collin  30:58

All it is.

Brandon  30:59

What creepy legends do you have in your area? Let us know.

Aaron  31:07

I was gonna ask What? What costume Lily? No, we're gonna wear for Halloween. But then talan started off with murder.

Brandon  31:18

Not luck. It's still the theme of the show. Okay, we'll get there in it. We get

Collin  31:25

so I don't know. I want you guys to guess. I want you guys to guess. What do you think? Lillian is going as

Brandon  31:33

podcast host has a microphone. She's

31:43

a man. Next year.

Brandon  31:45

Next year.

Collin  31:47

Aaron? Uh,

Aaron  31:49

I was gonna say something like, one of those famous Instagram dog watchers. Extra.

Brandon  31:59

Got Yes. And then no is gonna be the dog. She's gonna

32:05

know Lillian is going as a as a princess. Oh, yeah,

32:11

right. Yes. Okay. Yes. Uh, I

Collin  32:14

don't know if I've said this or not before. But the dress looks suspiciously like a frozen character.

Brandon  32:20

Yeah, we talked about is logical, because they're actually seen frozen.

Collin  32:24

They've actually seen it. Yeah. And then Noah is going as a construction worker, as

Brandon  32:30

In Memoriam of all of his friends that fixed his sidewalk. Slash Street. Okay.

Collin  32:37

super sweet. I don't know if I told you. But we went to the chiropractor on Monday because we go once a week, just get just as family for a while. We come back, the crew is working on the sidewalk out here. The kids wore their costumes to the chiropractor because they got a prize for doing that. Right.

Brandon  32:55

Because they need to wear more than once. Okay,

Collin  32:56

yeah. Right. It was like $5 at the local place. And I'm like, awesome. And so we get home and the crews are out there. And oh, do you want to go say hi. So Noah has he's got these winter boots, which are kind of like a brown leather. So they look like oh, yeah, work boots. He's got his j going. He's got his bright vest on with his tools and the tool belt. He's got to help hardhat he walks down and we're standing there and the crews are working and all of a sudden the guy operating the backhoe grows open the door and he calls the foreman. He goes we got another one. Get him over here. around and I mean, these guys just play into it. They're like, come

33:40

on. Let's

33:41

grab a shovel, man. Come on.

Brandon  33:46

We're just you know, and they

Collin  33:47

did yeah, it was kind of rainy. So they had on their high vis. jacket vest. Oh, jackets, too. So yeah, they were looking at you like one on one. It was it was a really, really sweet moment. And then the next day, they they're out working and a guy comes up and got this bag and he knocks on the door. And he goes hey, Happy Halloween. Want to give you guys this. We opened it up. And it's two giant boxes of sidewalk chalk for the kids. It's like, it was like yes. So it was really really sweet. And like just Oh, that's awesome. I think that's a great gift because my kids have been watching you build a sidewalk for literally a year and a half. Yeah. sidewalk chalk and I that was just that was really really sweet of those guys. Great crew rate.

Brandon  34:41

That's pretty awesome. Yeah, no, it was like, oh my gosh. Oh, that's funny. Yeah. Yep, they're

Collin  34:56

gonna be doing and then they're gonna be doing a trick or treating around. dads tonight. The park park right by us. Did a drive thru trunk or treat last night? And apparently the wait to get in was like, almost an hour. It was at the city. Yeah,

Brandon  35:19

yeah. A lot. I don't know if we had one at the park a lot of the churches did there's drive thru outside this year. Yeah. Because my one of the one of my kids from last year, can we talk to me after school Friday said they were going to do that, because they got rescheduled because it was gonna be a Wednesday, but it has been like 30 degrees and rainy all week this week. Because they're doing a drive thru outside they rescheduled it for either, I think was last night. So they moved it back. So that it wouldn't be so terrible. But because they usually do theirs and like, their church gym or whatever. But like they did in a parking lot. So that's pretty funny. But they moved it back to do that. Kaylee, that was crazy, though. Yeah, wait. It really was good, though, that that made people want to come out and do that stuff. So that's

Collin  36:10

kind of cool. It is. It is. And I was little after we organize this weekend, or like, you guys can go down there because, um, you know, just have fun. It's gonna be a great weekend outside, go do all that stuff. And then I picked up the kids from school on Wednesday. And the teacher was like, oh, if you guys are in the area on Saturday, come by the house. I always we grill and have a taco bar this year and all this stuff. And I was like,

36:39

What?

Collin  36:42

Of course, I send my kids away and there's a taco bar that's gonna be outside that I'm not going to be able to attend. Of course, of course.

Brandon  36:51

You can still go like

Collin  36:57

well, it might be a little weird, but

Brandon  36:59

fine. Who knows? Everybody, Where are the kids?

37:04

They're not here. I just want the tacos.

Brandon  37:08

tacos. Okay, it's

37:11

like, oh my god.

Collin  37:13

Hey, how cool and be

Brandon  37:15

Yeah. No one likes missing out on tacos. Oh, he's terrible. No. Aaron, did you finalize your Halloween costume? Uh,

Aaron  37:35

yes, I am. I sent us a snap shot of to Collin yesterday. I am a overly polite Midwestern serial killer. You know? Where I am dressed in hunting waders, and I'm just like, overly polite, but I was like a serial killer. I just wanna say a lot and be like, Oh, sorry. Give me

Brandon  38:05

okay. Weirdly specific thing to be rallying. Yeah, it

Aaron  38:09

was it was a mixture of duck. duck hunting season is coming up.

Brandon  38:15

I had my waders out anyway, so I I

Aaron  38:18

had I had to purchase some waders. And so I was the break in period. Yeah. Well, might as well go ahead and do it. I guess. So. I when when did that so just go and take care of two birds with one stone.

Collin  38:42

Whoo.

Aaron  38:45

That's that's kind of what I planned on. And I'm going to be coming up. So I was like, yeah, I'll go ahead and do this and call it good. So yes, that's, that's that's what I'm gonna be. We're still trying to come up with something we might just go get. I get dressed up and then just kind of like, go out to eat somewhere. And then we'll come back in. There's a lot of there's a lot of kiddos in our little apartment complex area. So we might go get some some candy and and come back and chill and

Brandon  39:24

distribute. Yes. What is Shelby going to dress hands?

Aaron  39:28

Yeah, she is going to be dressed up as a Brad stall. Ah she has a shirt that literally says brats on it. And it's it's black and purple. And so she get dressed up and we're gonna we're gonna go anyway doing this if we can get Oh yeah, it was just so I'm excited. She's excited to be at the show.

Brandon  40:01

We'll go We'll go do that

Aaron  40:03

and and I don't know where we'll go if we'll go get go somewhere and hang out or just just enjoy the other festivities of people, but we'll go to that and we'll Yeah, it'll be a lot of fun, though. Yeah, it's I'm definitely excited. It was it was a long week of work and I was like, let's do something weird. That's where bigger is out to a waiters out to a restaurant chairs

Brandon  40:35

around. I mean, is it that weird in Oklahoma though, people just be like, so. How's it going? Yeah, roll. Oklahoma citizen. Like,

Collin  40:46

yeah,

40:47

yes. Well, okie

40:48

How's it going?

Aaron  40:49

That's about right. That's that's a good good legitimate. There. So yeah, it'll be it'll be fine. At least I think so. Anyway, so

Brandon  41:10

Well, there you go.

41:15

See, I will get the we'll get to that and just kind of have a chill day tomorrow of you know, catching up on some work or, you know, finishing some

Aaron  41:28

Halloween movies and get get ready for ready for Thanksgiving. So

Brandon  41:36

yes, the worst holiday boo. Thanksgiving. Spirit. It's more on that coming soon. Maybe not today on Halloween episode. Oh, wait, a little closer. They

41:55

don't want too much.

Aaron  42:01

Oh, that's all the new stuff on on our end. Down here anyways.

Brandon  42:12

Nice. You're not really doing anything sad at all. Shane's got to work. She's wearing her. Her did let them wear costumes. So she is going to pirate it up. And right anyway, so she's very enthusiastic about this. For some reason, she just decided that pirates is way to go. And so it's gonna be now so. No, no, probably not. But he's really funny and random. So it's okay, but

Collin  42:49

I was trying to think of past costumes, especially when we were little and growing up. And I don't remember a whole lot of them.

Brandon  43:00

Yeah. I think I stopped dressing up after about fourth grade me early. fourth or fifth grade after that. I was like, Yeah, no, I'm done now. I don't really definitely by the time I was in middle school, I was pretty much over Halloween. I never really liked it that much anyway, like, I was never just super into it. It was kind of fun. Whenever you know some stuff like I was like me whatever. I think we went once in high school because we wouldn't Trick or Treat went to our teachers houses. But me bunch of people did that. But it was just like, Oh, I'm gonna i don't i didn't dress up as any like fancy It was like oh, I'm gonna wear some like we weren't like 70s clothes I think is what we did something. Yeah. So we didn't like really dress up so much as like, just were ridiculous things and then go to treat me. I think that's what happened. Yes. But I wasn't really into it. I remember I was I don't know when I was very young. There is a picture of me somewhere dresses Peter Pan. Like real? I'm talking like five a I was a pirate once.

Collin  44:32

I had a ninja costume one time. Mom make us pines. No, she

Brandon  44:39

made you a porcupine because I surely made me a teenage ninja turtle costume. That's right. I was Raphael the best ninja turtle. Let's write a rough draft of as to fight me.

Aaron  44:57

I definitely remember one year. I was a out. What was it? I was a mighty duck. Oh, yeah, I had the little that the white the white outfit and everything. And yeah, I was totally a mighty duck and I was awesome. Perfect.

Brandon  45:21

I don't remember anything else that I am pretty sure I was I was a ninja in maybe third or fourth grade. I remember that because that Halloween was freezing cold. And my costume was very not thick. And I was like I am now frozen to death. Dumb shirt. Oh my gosh, why? Like, it's actually snowing right now. Maybe? Like, isn't this terrible? I think there might be. I don't remember how to do that. Maybe I stopped earlier. But I remember those specifically. I could there could have been some more. But I'm pretty sure definitely. Middle School. I was like, Huh, no,

Aaron  46:13

I definitely being moving Jar Jar Binks at school on time. I definitely remember being like, some sort of SWAT person, or like a police officer or something like that.

Brandon  46:26

And then

Aaron  46:29

Ah, definitely when I was older, aka in the last few years, I've always felt something

46:37

by quiet.

Brandon  46:41

I remember when I was in middle school in high school, I would just tell people like what are you doing? Probably and I'd be like a pedestrian. Like, what's something like that? Like? I'm a person in a grocery store.

Collin  46:54

I'm Look, here I am like a background person background man number three is when

Brandon  47:00

I would Yeah, I would just say stuff like that. Cuz I was deadly knife to it cousin. Even in high school. Like it was still that was still back in the day where it was okay, like schools. It was okay to wear your costume school. Like I remember High School. You could wear costumes, but no mask. That was like the thing, right?

47:14

Yeah.

Brandon  47:17

That was just the caveat. No masks, but you can wear whatever. So like, a lot of my friends would dress up and you know, all the stuff or all the gun of the girls dress. I was like weird stuff. And I'm just like, No, I'm like,

Aaron  47:32

I I do distinctly remember things my last year, and college. I definitely bought some later hosen and a Bavarian hacked. And I showed it to my German history class, wearing it. And I got some bonus points just because I'll be I definitely remember that. That was that was a lot of fun

Brandon  47:59

playing go. not easily forgotten. I'm sure for everyone involved. Yeah,

48:06

it's fine. Magic.

Aaron  48:09

Well, I walked in. I remember. It was Professor lavry. He's like, Ah, that's what we're doing today. I was like, yeah.

Brandon  48:18

Yeah, it is. What's up? Yeah,

Aaron  48:20

I I definitely remember him just kind of like looking at me and just having that. That look of defeat on his face. It's like, Oh, this is what we're doing today. Like a doctor that never used to do it. Yeah, that was that was me.

Brandon  48:38

That's a bold choice later. hosen in the middle of a college class. I gotta say.

Aaron  48:44

Yeah, I wasn't the only person dressed up like there was other people but I was only one cool enough to wear later. hosen

Collin  48:52

again, that's the key here. Sure. They dressed up You were the only one in later I

Brandon  48:57

mean, as you would be right Not really.

Collin  49:04

I guess it would be more awkward if you showed up and there was like 12 of you that

Brandon  49:08

would be more awkward. like whoa,

Aaron  49:10

wearing later posing

49:12

but at the same costume idea.

Aaron  49:19

Um, and I just remember that I was always the or that that was the one day I was like later hosen I should and therefore

Collin  49:28

that's I

Aaron  49:29

haven't looked back then. What did I ever need to

Brandon  49:39

I guess that is a that's a step once you take it you're not not going back across that threshold right?

Collin  49:48

I mean, you're not you're not not gonna you know be known as later hosen guy I mean, you do at one time, obviously.

Brandon  49:54

Yeah, sticks around forever. Right That works.

Aaron  49:57

By I definitely think Just like my first semester at Ennio as a fundraiser, we did a haunted house into which I dressed up as a deranged clown. And we decorated the bandroom editio. And people paid like $5 or something, and they got to walk through it. And lots of the other people in the band dressed up and had little stations or something like and now, Chair we remember we raised a lot of money doing that, but that was that was a lot of fun. But I think it was like the the first last time I ever did anything crazy like that.

Brandon  50:39

Yeah, even in I'm trying to think I in high school, I definitely went to several like Halloween parties, which is basically just like, a bunch of people watching scary movies in the living room. or garage, right? That was not like party. It's like a thrown word. We think about high school parties, right? Not like that. Not like one of those like early 2000s MTV house parties. Now it was just a bunch of random things about during the day, maximal living room, pretty awesome. But like, I don't think I dressed up to go to those either. Like my friends did. They definitely did. But I did not. I was like, Whatever. I'm not. I'll go I'll hang out or whatever. But like, I don't really know. Because Well, I don't know, I just never I was never excited about like dressing up in costume. That was not a thing. I was like, Huh, man? I don't care. I don't really want to do this. It's a lot of effort into something like with no payoff. Yeah. At least in my opinion. So there's like, I'll hang out watch movies. We'll do whatever. I'm not dressing up. So. So it wasn't appealing to me at the time. Or still to be honest. But like,

52:03

continues back seniors

Brandon  52:06

but even then when you're like, you know 16 and ridiculous I was like, No, I don't think so. I'm out. I'm sure if it's snacks cuz I like we talked about forever like scary movies either. I remember when we definitely watch the whichever Jason movie where he's in space. And going.

Aaron  52:38

Like nine or just like text? Maybe? I

Brandon  52:40

don't know. We watched that one year. I think that was the year it came out. or something. We had it. It's like what on earth is this? Nonsense? Like what is happening right now? Yeah, was that one was the star. Oh, that doesn't even begin to describe that movie. That's what? Oh, there's a whole bunch of like, What? Why?

Collin  53:07

How the 20% on Rotten Tomato.

Brandon  53:12

might be too high. I think the year before that. We definitely watched it was in tears. I remember. We watched The Blair Witch Project. It was one of them, too, right? Yeah, people, I think but watch that one. Everyone just gives you motion sickness. I can't see out.

Collin  53:44

Why?

Brandon  53:46

Why it was a choice that you made to just shake the camera at all times. I know. They're supposed to be scared but my eyes Why?

Collin  53:57

Come on, guys.

Brandon  53:59

Yeah, I'm trying to I mean, I know it was like, what was that 99 to deselect the one that came out.

54:06

I'm trying to look at the I pulled up a list of like the best horror movies. And I just

Collin  54:14

for some reason King Kong from 1933 is listed on this list with a Rotten Tomato and I felt odd.

Brandon  54:21

There's nothing Okay, so it was 99 so that would have been my freshman year. It's whenever it came about was rushed to his house. So it was either my freshman sophomore year. Probably sophomore. But anyway, yeah, that was a weird one. Just because like that movie got like messed with people not because the movie was good. Or because the film work was good, but because like that the marketing or the movie was so bizarre that I don't know if you guys remember this because you might have been too young but like This was like early wild west internet days. Right? Because it was like, the internet was only kind of a thing in 1999. So the weird thing about The Blair Witch Project was it was presented to you as a found footage movie. Mm hmm. Right. And the website for the movie was like this really janky website. And it was presenting it to you as a found footage movie. And that was the only information you could find about anywhere. Oh, that was it. So there was a lot of people that were like, especially when it first came out. They were like, they're like, intentionally blurred the line between like real and movie. A lot of people were like, legitimately concerned that this was an actual thing that happened.

Collin  55:48

Right, right.

Brandon  55:51

I remember that was the whole point of the marketing because it's movies. Like, I mean, horror movies make tons of money anyway. Because you make them for like, $7

56:00

Mm hmm.

Brandon  56:01

You know, this one, especially? Because it's 33 people. The world's worst camera. And that's it as all as your budget. Oh, God.

Collin  56:15

Well, it really started the I don't know if it started so much as it really set off that, that that genre of extremely low budget, but they use that to their advantage to kind of blur those lines between documentary not documented. Yeah. Even a Cloverfield, you know, continued that. Yeah.

Brandon  56:36

Yeah. I mean, it's definitely the first like, found footage movie that I know about. Now. Does that mean it's the first one? No. Okay, internet. Okay. I'm sorry. I'm not an expert in the genre, as we discussed, but like, it's the only one. It's the first one I became aware of. Sure, you know, and it kind of, even if it existed before, it definitely put that genre on the map more like, Oh, hey, this is a thing. This is a deal that you do so it's like a really weird because Yeah, that one's why there's just others other random ones that are like that. That is like the found footage thing. Including that as one that's like, really bad. I hear. I've never actually seen it. I don't know what's called. But it's like so like brutal and like, so extreme that they had to go to court and like produce the actors to prove that they didn't actually kill them. Like the one that was that was about, like a jungle or something. Right?

Aaron  57:35

Yeah. So they did this found footage thing of like, they they found like a village of cannibals.

Brandon  57:42

Yeah, I just be called cannibal or something like that. Yeah, no.

Aaron  57:47

And so yeah, that was it was a whole thing that people thought that this was like, like, a legit movie. And they're like, No, no, no, no, no, we do it. We're actors. It's where we're all fine.

Brandon  58:02

Yeah, it's like so low budget. And so like, extreme Lee graphic. That again, I haven't watched it because that's definitely not my style. I don't I'm not into that at all. But like, it's so bad like that, that they had that they went to court and had to like, produce the actors and say, Look, they're not killed in a jungle somewhere. Oh, my God. Yeah, it was messed up. Yeah, it's crazy. I've heard about this. In Washington not interested in Yeah. Yeah. Like the story is like, what, why?

Collin  58:42

I have no interest in anything like that. You know, it just, I don't I have zero interest or want need to see that kind of thing. So it just has zero appeal.

Brandon  58:58

Yeah, I agree. I'm definitely not in the camp of like, more gore equals scarier. Right. Some people are really into that. Cool, I guess. But that's not. That's not my scene for sure. I'm not. Yeah, definitely not watching that. Like, again, most horror movies I'm not into anyway, because they're not necessarily great movies. They do have a budget of $7. I'm not saying that. You can't make a good movie for low budget, right. That's all I'm saying. I'm saying they often don't. And it's like, Okay, well, at that point, they're

Collin  59:39

so worried about trying to make it scary, that they lose, like a plot, or they don't worry about the writing. They're just like, there's no plot.

Brandon  59:49

Yeah, that's the problem because I like storytelling, you know? Yeah. That's I agree, because I do like to watch movies that are like story and stuff and Most of us don't have them now get through some of them. Yeah. Yeah. But I still still add to that. Like interesting or like complex or scary, so it's just like, Oh no, it's stabbing. Okay. Or Sandhu. Or when they try to do it, like, more psychologically, but it's like so cringy and bad like, does it make the boogeyman? I think I saw that movie once. Not good. And then like,

1:00:36

yeah, even the psych psych ones can be touching me.

Brandon  1:00:42

Yeah, snapped into it. Not my bag. So whatever. If you like it, go ahead and keep watching it, but they're not for me. Um, yeah.

Collin  1:00:55

upset. I'm good. Man.

Brandon  1:01:06

Pretty much. Good. So what about the next week? We got going on next week. They're exciting or dog sitting? Ah, no. Ah, we have an election.

1:01:22

Yeah.

Brandon  1:01:25

That's true. And oh, real quick on that. Not not on the national dumpster fire. But on like the one of the things about elections that confuse me greatly. is why. Like, I'm talking about local city county elections. Okay. I'm gonna steer away from insanity land for a moment. I don't understand why need I need a partisan ticket to elect the county coroner. Right Why is that a thing? Why don't have to be like, Oh, the republican corner the democratic corner? Like does that title really affect your job that much? Like, assessor? Like?

1:02:12

I have concerns? Right? I think I think I'd actually like my corner to be apolitical. You know what? I

Brandon  1:02:19

don't care. Yeah. Like, I don't understand why. Why that, like, some positions that I'm like, didn't necessary to be like a political position. Like even things like County Sheriff like, I'm fired. Chief, like, Oh, I don't know if these are like, well, is that is that a thing? Like,

Collin  1:02:45

either? And that doesn't make it really hard when, like you like, because, like, the politics like, aside or whatnot for the assessor or for the sheriff. Like, what? Like, no, thank you. These need, all of these people need to be apolitical. But if you like somebody, you might vote for them. Because the other person who you want to vote for is on one side of the political aisle. You've got to get that ballot and all sudden you like locked out you're like,

Brandon  1:03:13

what? Yeah, not too weird. I don't Yeah, I really anyway, it's really confusing. I don't Yeah, I don't want assessor or like, get definitely corner. Like that doesn't make any sense to me. Right. It's like the people in the county office, you know, like, random county office clerk person that you have to elect like, Why? Why are you? I don't understand what, what your political affiliation has to do with your counting receipts? Like, I don't know, like, what is that? Like?

Collin  1:03:41

Like, what I I think we've talked about it on here. There's a I forget what the title is. But basically, all the person does is they work they do roads, they do county roads. And they are like, yeah, I'm okay. I'll fix your roads. And I'm like, wait.

Brandon  1:03:57

Yeah, like that.

Collin  1:03:59

Wait, are you gonna fix them better or worse?

Brandon  1:04:01

I don't. Yeah. The other hardest issues of those parties that the baggage they bring with Him not relevant to road district right. Now not helpful. Yeah, but I guess I know, some people would argue that way about like the sheriff. Right. But in my opinion, like your job is not to make the law is the sheriff know, right. You just like, do Sheriff things. Right. You just I don't really think you need a political association to run a jail or like, right, give your boss a speeding ticket. Right. Like,

Collin  1:04:40

not executed. Right. Not like, it gets a little different when you're like, electing a judge. Right. And

Brandon  1:04:47

I mean, that's different. That's fair. I understand that. That's okay.

Collin  1:04:50

Great, but but but it's like, okay,

Brandon  1:04:53

I don't like Mayer and all that stuff that makes sense, but like, just this processor over political

Collin  1:05:01

politicization of Absolutely. Every aspect. Yes. Oh, it really burns me up.

Brandon  1:05:10

So yeah, cuz it's like, ambulance district person. Like, that's not I don't need that right. Like why? Why would you put that out there? Why do you need to be one of those parties? That doesn't make sense? Yeah. That's always the thing I found really weird. Like, I understand especially right now because it's like, it's that time where they're electing all the county positions as well. Yeah. And there's all this like, just crazy stuff and you know 75,000 signs everywhere for like county clerk like, What? Why be like like executive Commissioner Like what? Why do you? What does that have to do with AR Stan? Why that has to be? Oh,

Collin  1:06:01

yeah, yeah, just Oh, that's a whole thing, isn't it? It just I don't understand. I don't understand that I don't understand a lot of things, especially at the national level anymore.

Brandon  1:06:14

Yeah. So yeah, that's why I wasn't gonna talk about that one. But I was

1:06:21

just the my happy space for a minute. Hold

Brandon  1:06:23

on, hold on. Yeah. Oh, Jiminy Cricket. Yeah. But the office that talks about like, land deeds and boundary lines needs to have a political Association. Like, what

Collin  1:06:38

does that? Tell me? In what possible way? Yeah, it's like work that you've been set out to do? How any affiliation would change that? Go ahead, please. Yeah.

Brandon  1:06:55

Yeah, I don't know is weird. I guess.

Collin  1:06:59

That's, that's all. That's the only exciting thing we've got going on. Right now.

1:07:04

Yeah.

Brandon  1:07:06

I got this really cryptic email on Friday, about like, whatever are supposed to happen on Monday. So it's really I don't really use it. So stage setting scenario, we do this thing called late start Monday. It's the bane of my existence. And I don't like it at all. But it's basically we start school at nine o'clock. Why? Right? Because, so we I started to get there at the same time. But that, that hour between when I would normally be there, and when, like not it's like nine o'clock, I think is like scheduled set aside district. Learning team meeting time. Right. So every week on Monday, my mind is little bit different. Because I'm the sixth grade is weird. In my school, but like, for example, like the fifth grade teachers, every Monday for half an hour carved out, did they have to sit and talk about their, like, learning stuff? Right, whatever their standards, their action plans, all that stuff? While there's weird buzzwords that we like to talk about. Right? I go every week and talk to because I'm sixth grade is a weird land. Right? We don't, because all the all the K five meets with grade level teams, right? Six through 12. Because we're a small school, it's all one big building meets with content teams. So like, I go and meet with the seventh, I meet with the other science teachers that teach seventh eighth grade in high school. And we talk about science things. And then sometimes I go visit the history people because they talk about new stuff, right? And all the math department like nice together. So a few years ago, they departmentalized the upper grades to do that. So that's what we do every Monday. Sometimes we have district staff meetings on the kids like well, we have an hour in the morning we'll have a school wide staff meeting thing right whatever. Monday I got an email that said the in your classroom instructions will be emailed Monday morning. What does that what does that mean? What the heck? I don't like to what that is that's it that's all there was? Oh my gosh, like what is that? Does that mean? Are you gonna do like a thing? Are we gonna want to have

Collin  1:09:55

sounds like a hostage situation.

Brandon  1:09:58

Yes, I don't know. Weird Oh, I have no clue what's going on happened on Monday morning show up at the bus stop.

Collin  1:10:07

You'll receive more instruction then.

Brandon  1:10:09

A little mysterious. Yeah, I don't know. very bizarre Wow, so yeah, I know it's probably like some weird thing we're gonna have to like watch a thing and we're just gonna watch it on there I don't know we're gonna have to do some sort of like remote in deal or something. I have no idea mysterious mysteries just email for the principal will be like do this like what? Okay, I know what that means but all right. Sounds really ominous.

Collin  1:10:45

Wonderful. Thank you.

Brandon  1:10:48

Yeah. So we'll see how that goes. Yeah. Yeah, it'll be

1:11:00

Aaron  1:11:05

mean besides a lot of work? I got a lot of cases I gotta close for next week. So it's mostly just documenting and typing stuff so that's as honestly all i got next week. And I don't have a lot of anything planned at the moment it's just it's it's a lot of typing I have so much I have to do I don't I don't want to but I have to worry. But no, that's that's bad all i got like said duck seasons coming up. Not next week, but the week after and so start planning for that. But other than that, I got I got nothing interesting.
