Collin  00:04

Welcome to Oh, brother, a podcast of three brothers trying to figure it all out with your hosts, Brandon, Colin and Aaron. On this week's show, keep your gum mouth closed. Hello? Why? Hello? I went to want to try something in your hotspot. Hello, can you hear me? Are you talking? Oh no. Okay, I'm gonna hop off again

Brandon  00:41

just got this on air experimentation. You can keep going.

Collin  00:44

Well, I am. I am with my mobile my mobile is recording rig is is wonderful. It's perfect in every single way. Except.

Brandon  00:56

Except

Collin  00:57

I don't have a mic stand.

Brandon  01:02

Ah. Yes.

Collin  01:04

So if you I'm going to do my best to not fiddle with the microphone and also hold it very steady.

Brandon  01:12

So he's gonna fiddle with the microphone constantly. Listeners, I'm gonna go ahead and apologize now for loud banging noises. You may hear Colin dropping things. Why am I doing my best? I'm doing my best. So I mean, fair enough. I was just warning for everyone out there.

Collin  01:34

That's good to know. It's there's no it's impossible. There's no There's no content warning. It's just con. Textual warning, context warning. context of this is that it's not being recorded. Well.

Brandon  01:48

It's fine. Everything's fine.

Collin  01:54

Aaron, Aaron, are you are you alive and

Brandon  01:56

well? Ah, yeah, I'm good. That yeah, they're blown away. In some of our game. We played a doubleheader today. I had a call tonight for about 10 minutes because the wind was blowing so bad. I got I was chewing gum. And sometimes my brain doesn't use and I was just doing like, open mouth like with the dust blowing. By the time I was, that's disgusting. I was aware of the situation. I was just crunching on like, stray dogs. So I don't know it's alive and well away. That Are they was our last home softball game. We got districts today, but the rest of this week we're testing so I got really nothing to do. Ah, yeah. So watch out for that hail that I hear is coming close to down there might be more towards my Emma. But I was watching something today like massive hail storms and like thunderstorms coming through Southeast. And northeast Oklahoma.

Aaron  03:08

Also, it got pretty like I mean, today, it was just like, really nice weather. And like all day, and then all of a sudden my time school went out. It was just like, dark. And like, the wind was blowing. And I was like, what's happening? But apparently we got we got some scattered showers around us.

Brandon  03:32

We just caught the tail wind of everything. It's like, Yeah, we didn't we didn't go away yet. But if the rates are low, I think big storms tomorrow. in that neck of the woods, I think maybe a little east of where you are. Yeah, I think the big ones. But so we'll see. Oh, let's see. But yeah, this is a testing starts tomorrow. We got this week. Next week starting on Wednesday. We only go forward is the I mean that's true, I guess Yeah. So we do when? When do you test? So your high?

Aaron  04:16

F starts tomorrow. So we have in Oklahoma for middle school? Eighth, seventh and sixth is math, one and two English language arts and eighth grade has reading and then the eighth grade science.

Brandon  04:33

Yeah, that's the same in Missouri. And so yeah, I have to administer slash proctor. So tomorrow I have math. The next week I have English because they have that feature that teaches that subject doing that thing. So yeah, it's all the

Aaron  04:58

higher the easy class. I've tried to make early make sure all my stuff's set up and ready to roll because I don't know if I assign certain things. When should I have

Brandon  05:14

a little bullet? You gotta read. Yeah, I got it. I gotta get past. So that'd be pretty much good to go. Not 100 presenter yet Nice. Oh, the I, I generally, I generally end up the test booklet in increasing levels of movie trailer voice one, the more often I have to read it, right. So the first one is like serious. Second one a little. So it just goes downhill from there. So it ends up like today you will be taking English Language Arts section three, like just downhill. Yeah, so I've got to make all my stuff up and get ready to rock and roll. Yeah. I'm deaf. I'm not ready for the year be over. But I'm ready. Yeah. I finally got my actual job. That was much more actually. So one of the ones there's two of them that if you like, go back and forth a long way. It looks like you're like hopping in the air. So I wonder like they're zoomed way out. Have you ever there I like to switch back and forth that that girl that will swing the bat with a smile on her face. He will strike out with fall on her face. Like it does not matter. He is just just happy to be there. And so she said it like it is awesome. Just like dating right over the top of the infield. And it's very fast. And so I was just trying to, you know, get her to unhitch wagon and just talk to the coach. That due to my enthusiasm of her being safe. The umpire like Dad Oh, she's on the call, right? Yeah. She was just literally digging around. And the moment she touched the bag, like I was like, Oh, she's facing apart as well. Yeah. Good luck for me. Oh, thank you. So yeah, I think I will take full credit with my with these shoes. Yeah.

Aaron  07:37

And yeah, that's what that's for. I am just waiting her through and just trying to get her to go a bit faster. So yes, I will take that victory.

Brandon  07:48

As you should. That's good job. It's like, hopping around. But now we know. GM mouth closed while doing okay. Yeah. That was get the dirt right. Get like those Egyptian teeth. Right? You got sand in your brand. You know, you know, and

Aaron  08:07

I worked hard our field by I spend at least two hours, just like Dragon today. And I really wanted to but it was especially, you know, in windy situation, aka Oklahoma. Y'all are trying to like water. The dirt. Like at least. Right? Yeah. Yeah. So not, it's not like blowing all over the place. So I wanted to fly. It's like a one step process just to get like the water thing. Like, move. And like the turned on and all that's

Brandon  08:42

needed right now. So I was like, yeah. And yeah, we had to call the game for like, run around with a water bottle. I have a practice because it was like it was like, oh, what's my fault? I should have done this. But yeah, I don't like that'll be fine. The Empire? Oh, hold, you're going to put dirt on it. I'm like, Yeah, that's crazy. Someone should have done that.

Aaron  09:10

Yeah, so that was we played a lot better today. You know, our girls haven't won a game in two years. And they're four and eight right now. So it's like better they had their head hat years. So they're, they're learning and refining. That's really all I can ask for. They're, they're a weird thought of the Buffalo Bills and Aaron was just a different species of human beings. That is like That's true. So they don't really make a lot of sense. And then they're like, ah, like, I'm really proud of my you know, these girls and then they turn around they're like, kind of lying down like in the dugout, like

Brandon  09:51

ah, yeah, all right. I probably deserve to have like, we're cheers for like literally everything is So why I'm so proud of them, but then they just do weird things in my view. Like, not hurts. I guess. It'd be so great. But ya know, there it was. It was it was pretty, pretty neat day. So I got, I got we got stuff this week. And yeah, when you already go, we're done. That was sweet. Yeah, we're nothing on the downhill run as well. I don't think I think maybe a month or so left. I think I'm not exactly sure when last day of school is I don't pay attention to such things. Our testing is next week. So don't be excited. I keep reminding them every day. And they're like, no. Like, all right, it's testing time. They're like, No. I told the AP F with a smile. They all looked at me. They're like, who smiles when they do math and all like, not you guys. Come on. So everyone does it. Literally everyone. It's fine. Great. You're filing your FAFSA you're not filing? Yeah. I like it. Good motivational taxi. I'll be sure to employ that. I will tell them that's the secret. Yeah. Do you guys remember when we had to take a test? Are you given like, lemon drops or parties? thing? Does that just mean? Crazy? Yeah, that is definitely not a thing that they did a long time ago. It's a new thing. Like we give our kids like snacks, like little crackers and like mints. And like water, right? But when I was a kid, when I was a kid, definitely not upset now. They were just like, Shut up and take a test. And I was like, but but Funkhouser doesn't fit in the bubbles. Shut up. I didn't ask you like that's possible until you run out as a hot word. And fill in the bubble. So in elementary school, we had all the bubbles, right? And then we went to the MAP test. But then like, the bubbles were still there in high school. So it was like map and bubbles now.

Collin  12:31

So much fun, so much bubbling. Now,

Brandon  12:34

I don't know where did when you did the stat test. Arun, where did you do it? Did you do in classrooms? Or did you do like, cuz I remember we had some that we had to do in the auditorium. And that was awful.

Aaron  12:47

So that that test that we did in the auditorium that was like, more than we got like high school. Yeah. But I remember when I was like middle school, I think I, we like they gave us they gave us each like we got to have like parties. And like in the class. But yeah, we also had the bubbles, things like that. But I'm just I'm trying to remember like what all we had to take and like, where and why? Yeah,

Brandon  13:17

I don't remember. I remember that. In eighth grade. We did. The Rogersville was a part of the pilot program for the MAP test. So like, I took the first ever MAP test in eighth grade. And it was the one of the one of the first years I did that such a trailblazer. Yeah, I know. I'm just a pioneer in education here this gentleman. So, but I don't remember, I don't really remember the I remember, like studying for it. Right? Well, like when we review went over it because it was like going to be real new. So we I remember we talked a lot about like, how to write test answers. Because we had to, we wrote the first one we had to like write everything in a book. Like a test booklet. We had to like write everything in there. And I remember nobody was excited about this. and myself included. But I don't really remember taking it. Yeah, right. Like I remember preparing for it. I remember talking about it. I remember like afterwards, but I don't really remembered doing it. So I'm assuming that we just like Loki did it in class. Right? Like I think we just did it in because I only remember doing the language arts one. Oh, interesting. But I guess we just did it in language arts class. Yeah, I don't know. I definitely just remember being disappointed that it's like it was a map Like what they're about, like all map but then geography Yeah, boy, let's go. On the map. Yeah. So. And then I don't remember what else we had. I think the old one was called like the Stanford nine.

Collin  15:27

It was a Stanford test. I remember the Stanford Danford tests. Yeah,

Brandon  15:30

we had to test this in elementary school. It's like the stamp. I'm pretty sure it was the Stanford test. Yeah, they're like, 12,000 fill in the bubble ones. Yes. Yeah, that I always got, like, really bad anxiety about because it'd be like, if you don't fill in this bubble, right? You're gonna fail. And so I'd be like, Oh, no, I gotta exactly perfectly fill in the bubble. Now, now, I know, that's not how bubbles work. But as like a first grader knows that levels work. Who knows? Nobody. Nobody. So you know that if you don't, and I was always like, freaked out about erasings. Like, what if? What, enough?

Collin  16:07

Oh, my God see two answers.

Brandon  16:10

Yeah. Yeah, I would always

Collin  16:13

check with the teacher if I had erased enough. Or, you know, a lot of times it'd be like, No, go back to the other one called.

Brandon  16:24

The other one was? Was it the MMA T? The map? MMA T? Is that is that a test? That sounds familiar.

Collin  16:33

The mat, I thought was the MAP test mapped out? What are we talking about? We are talking about MAP testing, Mat testing, and then at

Brandon  16:40

a May t test. Is that something different? Is that a MAP test? Oh, no, that was just a Missouri mastery and achievement test. So maybe that was oh, no, no. Yeah. No, that's old Summary Report. 1996. So that is the old one the Saturday it was the M M A T. Somebody somebody Missouri Assessment Program with a P? Oh, yes. Yes. Yes. So I Yes. The image. It was the other one.

Collin  17:07

Look at you.

Brandon  17:08

Yeah. More bubbles. Oh, man. And then we're the Yes. Take the ASVAB. Yeah. And I found out later was actually a thing like this state judges you by your abs, abs scores. What does the army one? Or if you do, like, good the army calls your house, like everybody I knew in high school was like, Yeah, I'm gonna fail this on purpose. Because I don't want the recruiters to call me. Yeah, I don't want and then I found out that the state looks at that test. I was like, Yo, guys, that's a bad idea. You should

17:42

look at that. Oh, no.

Brandon  17:46

Like, what are they? What are they looking for? Remember? I don't know. I think it's just like they're taking it. We should look at it. I think that's what they do. Yes. But the Nationals do. There's usually like a National Guard guy that comes and talks about it. And like, yeah, like, take this test. So you can join the army? And we're like, no,

Aaron  18:06

that's the test we took in the auditorium. And I specifically asked, because I didn't know what we were taking. And I sat there for like, 30 minutes to fill it out. And the guy had to the guy came over, he's like, oh, you know, you need to get this down. I'm like, the third grade. He's like, No, and I'm like,

Brandon  18:27

I don't have to do that. Take it back. Like walk away, like, I'm not, I don't want to do I have? We also took a Stanford test in Taffer in the auditorium. I'm here as well, because I remember that's when like, when my friends broke the chair and like doing dumb things and not paying attention. Like it sounds about right. When you have to sit in an auditorium for many hours to take. I think we've talked about this before. This is not a familiar anyway. Yeah. So yes, and I guess, just like, in high school, lots and lots of like, POCs. Right. Lots and lots of those 12 billion are finals, right? They were called Final finals. Yeah. Yeah. What? I've had to take any of them because like, we could opt out of them back in the day. Like, if you had like good attendance and grades, you could opt out of your finals. So I didn't take I didn't take very many.

Collin  19:31

Nice well, because like I said,

Brandon  19:34

like a few times. But I was I always mean to the court like classes like yeah, like I always had to take out or like what grade I was. I think they changed it after Ella for a while. I think they're like, no, maybe we should actually make people do this. Now it's like the EOC like the state gives you like the end of course examination in Missouri. So like You have to do it. Back in the day, it was just like whatever junk Mr. garegin would throw together for the history final. So he's like, fun. Yeah. Am I taking I'm not taking this No way. Get out of here. Just a bunch of questions about how hot Olga Romanov is and like, what is it? But like, Yo, here's some describe the scene from Cleopatra the movie with Elizabeth Taylor. And tell me about your thoughts on Uncle Romanov? Yeah, like no thanks. Yeah. All right. He makes me laugh. I just have that distinct memory of him like, talking about Cleopatra. Like, describe, you know what he did give his nose. He just stand up there with paper and just like, talk forever. And then we watched that movie class and be my friend. We're like, wait, is he just is he just teaching us from this movie is pretty great. Yeah. That movie was like, this is exactly how he painted it. How do we how do we know that?

Collin  21:10

This is original footage. colorized. For viewing

Brandon  21:14

what he was he described it first. Right? He was going through all this detail about how she entered the thing and LSF right. And then like, at the end of that thing, we watched the movie, and I'm sitting there watching it. And like, Wait, hold on, like, funny how this might or think Lee? Yeah, it's weird that this matches exactly. I don't feel like this is entirely correct. I don't think something is afoot here.

Collin  21:41

Don't believe you? Yeah, I smell lies

Brandon  21:54

so that was very odd. But you know what I?

Collin  22:05

Well, I think was all this talk about school. Actually, this is a good transition, or the main event.

Brandon  22:12

Oh, I know. There's a main event. I didn't study.

Collin  22:15

There's always a main event.

Brandon  22:16

I also did not study.

Collin  22:19

You should break out a pencil and a piece of paper and get ready for Blackboard Jungle. Can you find Oh no. No. Can you find your homework and avoid detention? Or are you doomed to for a weekend of staring at the wall? I could not I don't know if I get oh gotta get up at my homework to try and get out of this. Speed running speed. Speed write this in like 10 minutes. It's not true. But I

Brandon  23:02

found my paper I was

Collin  23:06

gonna transition into this and then I was like, Oh my gosh, all we're just talking about school. This is perfect. This is amazing. I could have done that. Oh,

Brandon  23:13

no, no, no. I feared I have the fear.

Collin  23:22

Looking through it doesn't seem very complicated. And there are multiple endings that where you just kind of say okay, and it ends. So.

Brandon  23:30

Where are you die?

Collin  23:31

Are you done? Yes.

Brandon  23:33

Aaron, are you ready? To rumble in the Blackboard

Collin  23:40

in the Blackboard Jungle. See? It's even better. It's on brand.

Brandon  23:43

Okay, ready? Okay.

Collin  23:46

You're in the gym. It's currently devoid of sweaty athletes and cheering fans. You smell a rock locker room to the south. The exit is to the east. You see an eyeglass case

Brandon  23:57

on the ground when you said Jim just first of all to fill this episode with even more to selja The first thing that came to my mind is the old middle school gym at low school. Yes that gross one there was all dark and brown

Collin  24:15

with the wooden bleachers on either side that we Yes, exactly.

Brandon  24:20

All right. So what my something was to myself and what

Collin  24:25

you smell a locker room to the south. Okay, because it is to the east. You see eyeglasses kit you see a eyeglasses case on the ground.

Brandon  24:33

Well, Erin, I think we know what we have to do first. We call that yes, yes, that's what we do. No, I won't. But if we're imagining that I'm actually middle school I need a quarter for the payphone will surely be around the corner. We'll be alright. That was two theaters. Theaters. Yes, definitely. Alright, so I guess we should pick up the eyeglasses case. Step on the nose. Can

Collin  25:07

you add an eyeglasses case to your inventory?

Brandon  25:11

All right, where should I put my inventory? This favor? All right, inventory. Classes. Chase. Aaron, where should we go first? So we got what? We have a locker room to the south and then exit the East What grade are we in? We're in my decision.

Collin  25:45

Whatever you

Brandon  25:48

want to hear, what am I doing? Use your imagination. I'm imagining middle school because I thought of middle school gym first year middle school. So if it's middle school, I want to go bathe in the locker room. Okay, we're gonna go. I'm role playing here. Going south to locker room. I was so gross. I remember that thing.

Collin  26:12

You were okay. You're in one of parsely highs locker rooms. There is a janitors

Brandon  26:17

part here. Search janitors.

Collin  26:21

The janitors cart is more or less a trash can on wheels, a bucket of pink sawdust and a broom

Brandon  26:28

hanging from the cart. We all know what the sob is for. That's true. Was for vomit on the floor. But yeah, we all right, so we'll just keep that in mind. I don't think we can probably take it. Can we take a genius card with us? Can we are you asking to push the cart? Yes.

Collin  26:50

Did you hear someone cry out in alarm from inside the carts trashcan?

Brandon  26:53

Ah. Okay. Well what I do about this information, like the ones in the car

Collin  27:10

you hear someone's in alarm from inside the carts. Trash can.

Brandon  27:13

I think someone's been stuffed in a trashcan. Yes. I feel like it was examined trash. Can.

Collin  27:18

You you find the freshmen. Oh,

Brandon  27:22

okay. All right. Should should we leave in there help them out of the trash can. I buddy? For seniors I think we leave him there but we're probably not so we'll get him out of the

Collin  27:37

trash can the freshman runs

Brandon  27:39

off crying. Or yell after him? Are these your glasses? Hey, runs away. Oh, well.

Collin  27:48

That's true. You never did look at the glasses. Oh. I forget the rules every time we do this. DP dazzled cat eye glasses aren't really your style.

Brandon  28:00

I'm probably not his style either. Not judging. You can wear whatever glass you want. Okay.

Collin  28:05

Probably not. All right. Exits are north.

Brandon  28:09

Is there anything else in the locker room examine room?

Collin  28:13

There's a bucket of pink sawdust and a broom hanging from the cart.

Brandon  28:16

Okay, so I mean, I know. I mean, the room. The locker room is the is the car to the only thing in the locker room.

Collin  28:22

Yeah, there is just it's a typical locker room. Not much here with the car in the middle of it. All right. Moldy showers lockers that don't actually shut. Yeah. Okay. Perfect. All the smells, I guess.

Brandon  28:32

international listeners get a sneak peek into the life of American School. In the Midwest, specifically in the Midwest. We brings different other places in the Midwest, middle school and high school nostalgia. So this show is really all about

Collin  28:51

this is not really a speedrun.

Brandon  28:54

All right, sorry. Back to the gym, exit locker room,

Collin  28:59

exit gym, air in a gym, currently devoid of sweaty athletes exits our south and

Brandon  29:04

east. Alright, we came from the south. So Aaron, take us to the east. My guy. Yeah. Going East.

Collin  29:13

You're at the western end of a long hallway. Someone appears to have had tummy troubles. There's a puddle of sick on the floor. Because the classroom door here.

Brandon  29:23

The gym is to the west. Exits are east, west, north. You know where you go. You'll get that get the car to sawdust. So go back and get the car to saw that. Yes. We're gonna be that one kid that helped out with the janitors. Yeah, I mean, I don't want that my shoes, man. You know, we just gotta wait for diagnostics and some will pick it up later. Astra. Yeah, exactly. There we go. All right. Yeah, go back and get the practice I clicked on it. Okay, you go back.

Collin  30:02

We'll say you do that and you are standing back in the hallway.

Brandon  30:07

All right, I'm gonna deposit sawdust on the sick.

30:11

You cover up the slippery

Brandon  30:12

puddle. All right, there we go. The bed we need what is it? What is it? What is this room in front of

Collin  30:27

you are at the western end of a long hallway. Someone appears to have tummy troubles which you have cleaned up, although, although you didn't sweep it up so you're good janitor window.

Brandon  30:38

Only there was a broom right

Collin  30:40

next to on the janitors cart. But anyway, that was on the car, we brought the whole cart, it's when you sweep it up, you sweep it up, you'll make a fine janitor someday. But the hallway is now safe and clear of danger.

Brandon  30:54

I feel like I feel like the sentence the hallway is now safe is going to be very important later. So I think we are actually glad that we did this errand. We're going to be running down this hallway later. And if this was still there, we would die.

Collin  31:06

There's a classroom door here.

Brandon  31:09

The gym is to the west. So the only thing that the only exit from the hallway is the classroom door.

Collin  31:15

No, there's

Brandon  31:17

exit east, west and north. Okay, well West is where we came from. Right? So

Collin  31:24

you can go further down the hallway, or you can go north to the classroom,

Brandon  31:27

or the North is the classroom. Okay. Yeah. Well, let's check out the classroom since we cleaned out we've done a good deed for the day.

Collin  31:37

You've examined the door and you see Miss Bushell discussing last night's homework.

Brandon  31:41

Oops. Do you want to go into the classroom? You examine the door? Do you want to go north? Or do you? Yes, let's go in the classroom.

Collin  31:51

You want to go to classroom?

Brandon  31:52

I guess. Plan period is okay. I don't even know. Are we even in this class? I don't have where I don't have my you looked at

Collin  32:03

the door. Look at schedule. Do I have Miss Marshalls? You examine the door and you see Miss bushel discussing last night's homework?

Brandon  32:10

Oops. So we should probably go look for our homework error. So from the classroom went the other way. East. Or West? get late. Where do we come from? The gym we came from the west from the gym. The way that we haven't been yet is the east is I go eat. You stand at

Collin  32:34

the eastern end of a long hallway. There are a row of lockers on either side of you. You see the door leading

Brandon  32:40

to the library?

Collin  32:42

Are Are any of the lockers mine? Yeah, you find your locker at least you think it's been a while since you've opened it? Oh, no. This is actually my middle school experience to

Brandon  32:56

open my locker question mark.

Collin  32:59

It's locked. There's a combination lock on it.

Brandon  33:01

Oh, no, I bet I don't know.

Collin  33:05

Yeah, the lock is your basic tempered steel 32 digit combination lock. Very hard to crack. Believe me, you've

Brandon  33:11

tried. Right. Okay. Um, so, my exits from here are where? Oh, yes, your exits are indoors, to the library or West back to the other end of the hallway. This is the end of the hallway. Yeah. Okay. All right. So biblioteca Should we go back and brave the classroom or go to the library, library, O'Brien and

Collin  33:46

north to the library. You're in the library where you usually spend much of your time after school in the tension. Anyway, there's a study cubby here, and there's a book here. Miss green. The

Brandon  33:59

librarian is here. Isn't my book in this days at my homework? Search cubby for homework?

Collin  34:08

The wood desk has the numbers 1632 64 scratched into it. Oh, hold on. I read the numbers again. What are they 1632 64 scratched into it. gasp All right. Oh.

Brandon  34:27

What about the book? Isn't my book examined book?

Collin  34:30

The books titled cryptography for dummies? You remember skimming through it during detention yesterday, but that seems like forever ago.

Brandon  34:37

All right. All right. Hey. You're gonna read read the book. Yes.

Collin  34:52

You flip it open. Someone wrote divide by two in the margin of the book.

Brandon  34:56

Oh, that was you Okay. We'll take a look. Do you have a book? All right, crypto book. Wait, no. That means something different now. Cryptography. They do it. I think what you did there? Oh, yes. Okay. I guess, talk to a librarian.

Collin  35:31

She squints at you really hard like she's having trouble seeing and asks, Are you back again?

Brandon  35:36

Yes. I just love the library so much. Yes, right. All right. All right, Aaron, we have a combination. Let's go to the locker right down. So I guess

Collin  35:59

the librarian reaches out to you and says, I'm sorry. You're here to the end of the day if you're here for detention. Who are you? Who are you and she's squinting really hard? Oh, wait a minute. Are you

Brandon  36:10

just go sit down the cubby? Nope, not me. detention time. All right. And we have to sneak out of the library. She can't see Yes. Delta Covey. Initiate stealth mode.

Collin  36:29

Roll first. What does that rule for sneak? Yeah, roll for sneak

Brandon  36:37

sneak check. Decks check right what do you see? How

Collin  36:40

about you see her fumbling about at her desk? Having a hard time reading the check in and check out cards of some books as she pulled close to her face?

Brandon  36:49

Yeah, we have I bet library and be dazzled cat eyeglasses that we have been a glasses case. So instead of sneaking out maybe present glasses

Collin  37:07

Oh, thank you so much for these you're not who I thought you were Run along now get back to class.

Brandon  37:14

It's ourselves. All right. At classes and I was thinking the whole time I was like, I guess like Georgia were no good library. Yes. So head to head head locker.

37:30

You stand outside your lockers.

Brandon  37:32

It's locked though. Okay. I have combination 16 Enter combination. 1632 64

Collin  37:42

you realize looking at this that the numbers actually don't go up this high because it's a 32 digit College.

Brandon  37:47

Oh, I see what you've done. You've numpty? Why did I scratch the wrong numbers in my books? That means I want and yeah, whatever. 32 what is that? 16. Right. Yeah. So enter enter combination. 816 32

Collin  38:10

the locker opens. There are some there are some typewritten papers inside

Brandon  38:14

cobalamin God right. All right. read papers.

Collin  38:24

It's your English homework something something you're supposed to read. Anyway, you paid good money for this.

Brandon  38:28

Ah collect homework.

Collin  38:33

Exits our north to library or west.

Brandon  38:35

or west, west, west West. Yes.

Collin  38:42

You are at the western end of the hallway. There's cleaned up sick in the cart. And there's a classroom there to miss bushel

Brandon  38:49

head to classroom.

Collin  38:54

You step into the classroom and your English teacher Miss bushel clears her throat late as usual. I sincerely hope you remembered your homework. He holds a

Brandon  39:04

hand present homework Wow press A

Collin  39:09

will well well color me impressed he your scheme will will color me impressed and you go and sit down your scheme seems to have worked out allowing you to survive one more day in the Blackboard Jungle.

Brandon  39:21

The end Hey, there we go. bad at all. No. I like it. What's gonna be the alternative? Oh yes.

Collin  39:35

So some alternative things. If you would have tried to cross the sick in the hallway, you would have fallen down and gotten into Scott got a concussion and got sent to the hospital for an MRI. If you did not have escalated quickly, Arrow Aaron Yeah. If you did not have the glasses. She would not have let you out and would have kept you in detention till the end of the day. Yep, And good job. Yeah, so those are the only two Oh, and then if you didn't get your homework and instead you've just barged in, you would have gone to the library for detention anyway.

Brandon  40:15

Ah, I like it. That's pretty good. That one was much less stressful than the last one that

Collin  40:24

I'm saving. I'd say there's, there's there's a couple in here that are like, very extensive that I'm kind of waiting to like

Brandon  40:34

to do. So. We have to emotionally prepare for that.

Collin  40:38

Yes. Yeah, I'm doing this on a on a hyperlinked PDF. Instead of flipping back and forth between pages and it helps a lot. I click I just immediately jumps to the page. Like

Brandon  40:49

Thank you. Was this the same? The same people or is this like this is

Collin  40:53

from the same creator parsley games? Parsley adventures. Jared Sorensen number of his amazing

Brandon  41:03

amazing works. I guess it was just nice and chill. Yeah, not terrifying. Juggle one or that stinking baby Goblet of death. Oh, action Castle three. Actually canceled three. Man. Oh, that was a rough. What was the other one? The the actual jungle one.

Collin  41:23

It was jungle adventure. Now one rough two. Yes. That was a lot of different steps to it. The one that we are. There's two more. There's two. There's two really big ones left. There's called the Six Gun showdown guide. So we've done we have done six guns showdown. Action Castle, action castle 2x. And Castle three. We have done jungle adventure. And we've done now Blackboard Jungle. So we still have

Brandon  41:54

123434 left in the series. Five, four. Are those all big ones? Are some of them like those are

Collin  42:04

all big ones. Big ones. So yeah. So we'll we'll have to dedicate was there more small ones? I think there's one small one left. Okay. Yeah.

Brandon  42:14

But some of these intersperse? Yes. That's like this recurring series the surprise Rico through that was no.

Collin  42:25

I know that. Music Just wait. Yeah. Yeah. So we'll do that next week. We'll we'll say, well, let's keep them in our back pocket. Spring ammonia.

Brandon  42:42

Yeah. Save that one dress later.

Collin  42:49

Cool. Well, I'm glad that was I was I wasn't sure how much time that would take.

Brandon  42:52

And it took a time at all. But

Collin  42:55

yeah, so yeah, we're

Brandon  42:58

other than that. Doing? Pretty, pretty good.

Collin  43:03

I mean, I spent my time in Springfield today.

Brandon  43:07

I have met a client that scheduled us

Collin  43:13

for 9am this morning to come in and meet her and her dog. And then we got there. She forgot that every Tuesday she takes her dog for a blueberry facial and massage.

Brandon  43:29

Excuse me? What? Yeah, no, every Tuesday, every Tuesday. I actually forgot today was Tuesday. You forgot today was Tuesday. I mean, Easter weekend does mess with people.

Collin  43:41

We showed up and there was there was no dog.

43:45

And so she's like,

Collin  43:47

she's like, I really want you to meet her though. And so we scheduled a walk for this afternoon. And that's why I'm here.

Brandon  43:57

Goofy man. So whatever. We're here, we're making it work.

Collin  44:02

That's very interesting. And I went in, I got to meet a couple of people in some pet stores that we have followed online. So that was kind of a different experience of just coming in and being like, oh, boy, we follow you and you follow us and I'm saying hello. In person now. Did they go? Okay, yeah. Well, one lady was like, Cool. Great, I guess.

Brandon  44:28

Which is fine. I wasn't prepared for face to face interactions.

Collin  44:32

I didn't actually I didn't actually want this. I'm thinking like, I Why are you here? Please? Not come very uncomfortable.

Brandon  44:48

But it wasn't too bad. Thankfully, they were mostly mostly okay. Go No. Not anymore. Now. So, yeah, I just I don't understand why dog needs a facial. I'm really confused. Like, but it's a blueberry facial. So it's kind of dog is it? The Golden Retriever? What I was thinking like Bulldog, right boxer know, right dogs are weird faces. No, you know, golden retriever, you know, I'm saying like they have like skin things, you know what I mean? Like they have delicate skin, they have the weekly thing that needs a lot of extra attention, you know? Golden Retriever. Like the dog he is dog than ever dog. Right? Like, what are you doing?

Collin  45:44

What, why? No, he was she was very concerned about her dog and how she was going to behave and all this stuff. And so on the walk the golden retriever,

Brandon  45:53

like, you know, she was like, so how it's time to to other dogs. And I was like, she's fine. Fine. Fine. She's, she's, she's a dog. She's extremely well

Collin  46:06

behaved. I walked dogs where I could like, sit in the park and have them pull me like ponies. They pull so strong. And she just plods along, she knows where she's going. She knows what she wants. So it was

Brandon  46:18

pretty easy. Okay.

Collin  46:22

But owners don't know. They only know the dog. So

Brandon  46:24

I mean, it's true. But yeah, I mean, out of all the lady. Listen, this is like the number one dog breed in America for like a billion years for a reason.

Collin  46:32

It's pretty well known how these dogs kind of be right. They're pretty

Brandon  46:35

chill, right? Like, you're don't often see I'm not gonna say never obviously. Short, you don't often see just like a crazy bad behaved golden retriever. You know what I mean? Like? So like, I don't, I'm sure there's some out there. You know, listeners are gonna be like, I saw this one one time. And it was I'm not saying never okay. But normally, they're like the Sheila's dogs ever know, and she is super chill. So it was pretty, pretty easy. It's just,

Collin  47:14

she's really, really concerned. She's never had anybody take care of her dog before. And she's super busy now. And so she feels guilty about not having to spend time not being able to spend time with your dog. So it was just a lot of like, reassuring and everything's going to be okay. And all that good stuff. Oh, yeah. But

Brandon  47:34

I mean, that makes sense, I guess. But it's very eyes. I'm confused about blueberry. wasn't even supposed to do. Why was he? I mean, smoking. Can you just give him a path?

Collin  47:52

Right? Well, but I mean, she does get a bath every week. And Google bear facial and puppy pedicure and a massage.

Brandon  48:02

I mean, okay, the part that hurts me to say the word audit fear out loud here. Yeah, that's fine. Especially if you say it too fast. Sounds like potty here. Which is yes, double beds. But like, that wouldn't make sense. A little bit. Maybe not like every week. But trimming trimming the nails and stuff is important. Right? Over trimming. My

Collin  48:22

you know, that's once a week because

Brandon  48:24

as I'm saying once a week might be a little much. It'd be probably they just like file them a little bit. Yes. Right. Because they're like, they grew a millimeter on Oh, no. Got it. Got it. Like. I mean, the fitting the nails thing is important to make sure you're taking care of that because, you know, they don't want to get too long and weird because then you get stuff in them and checking their feet to make sure they don't have like, injuries. Like got rocks in there. Something like that. You know me, but like I don't know that I'm hung up on the facial thing. It's a little weird. It's weird. Like, I don't know, I don't really know how I feel that dog and besides that old dog. Oh,

Collin  49:17

middle middle age. Okay, man. Maybe older dogs, right? Yeah.

Brandon  49:22

Right. Like, oh, no, but seems a bit overkill. But you know, whatever. Whatever makes you happy with your dog. Yeah. Okay.

Collin  49:31

Yeah. And as I was decompressing from this, I was at the nature center going for a walk. And yeah, and because I was on that side of town, and as soon as you're walking over the boardwalk and looking at stuff, and I'm gonna wait up the hill at the very end, I look up and there's a girl that have a high school with walkie talkie with my son, and I have not seen her since graduation. She stopped him Like, Colin, and it was like, Jim. Hello? Nope. Nope. I mean wow, it was weird. I was like, wow, like, random, like very random place like on the trail. So anyway,

Brandon  50:16

I was like, oh, that's as weird. That's kind of funny. Nice Yeah, that's my day

Collin  50:30

and I go back at it. I got more meetings tomorrow since we've been your clients growing stuff. Oh, me.

Brandon  50:35

Here we go. Hey, you like would you like clients though? That's exciting, exciting word. Yes, it is. It's just, it's just,

Collin  50:44

I have a staff member who's leaving. And now I'm getting really busy. So we're to the point that we are growing and our team member, she's wonderful. She's the first person we hired down here. And yeah, she I think I told you that I tell you, she had an opportunity where she was offered a job to go work at a state park in Maine for the summer. Oh, yeah. And she was like, I don't know, if I'm going to take it. I was like, of course, you're gonna take it like you're going like, if I have to fire you to get you to go to do this. Like, what are you talking about? You're gonna, you're gonna have fun. Like, she's up in the middle of nowhere, Maine, to work in a gift shop for a state park. I was like, That sounds amazing.

Brandon  51:27

It's not about about fun. By

Collin  51:33

zoom. So she's leaving us at the end of the month. And so we're trying to find someone to

Brandon  51:39

fill that spot. And this is hard. This is hard. Yeah. As it turns out,

Collin  51:49

I think we've posted the position this be the fourth time, and we've gotten something like 420 people's amount applied to these positions in total across all four.

Brandon  52:02

And it's a lot and

52:05

finding somebody with all the everything to line up is been

Brandon  52:09

very tricky. So fast. process. We'll find them.

Collin  52:17

It's just yeah, it just means that I may be in Springfield a lot until we can find the person to cover it.

Brandon  52:24

Quickly. Yeah, true, I guess, which isn't what I wanted. But if I have to Well, no, but it's, it's, you know, part of it. Yeah. At least dad is there. You know, you have to like sleep in the office or like, yeah, get like, that would be. I thought

Collin  52:42

about it. I was like, I wonder if I could sleep in the office.

Brandon  52:45

I mean, you probably could. I don't like to be on that floor. No, no. Like, is anybody gonna know? No,

Collin  52:54

no. Nobody would know. So would it be

Brandon  52:57

kind of weird? Yeah, I wouldn't be like, I'd be like, should I move the bookshelf in front of the door?

Collin  53:11

I think I'm gonna move everything.

Brandon  53:15

I think I'm kind of freaked me out. Like to sleep in there. Like, part of my so here's the dichotomy of me, right? Part of me would be like, Yo, that'd be super cool. And the other part of me is going, No, that'd be literally the worst thing of all time. Or like, not sleep at all, because I'd be like, I don't have internet access. They're gone.

Collin  53:37

I don't have internet there. So that make it a little more difficult. Even worse. I could use my phone but yeah, see, that's another The other thing I had my meeting this morning that that didn't pan out and then I had like six hours to kill. And I was like, sweet, I'm going to the office. I'm going to work and then I was like, wait, wait can't because I have no internet. I have still yet to work in my office what it is so now it's FTK it is it is fine. It you know what it is fine. We'll be we'll all survive. But I was just funny because I had that moment of like finally Yes, it was like no like you can't do anything

Brandon  54:37

so like how like how Collins brain went I should work no but can't anyway go to the nature center by what appears to be the thought process probably a coffee and then like I did Nature Center

Collin  54:51

I did go to a coffee shop but I did I did work there for I knew it. I worked there for two hours. And then And then because as they are, it's a new location for them down by Galloway. They, they only have half days, so he closed it too. And so I had to leave. And then that's called black lab coffee. And it's a new coffee shop down there. Right, right, right across from Sicario to park.

Brandon  55:20

There are things in Galloway village once again, once again, they're not like they used to be like an antique store and like they've moved that antique store.

Collin  55:31

There's a there's a Brewing Company, there's a coffee shop, there's real utter. There. There's a bunch of people right on that corner and there's a few shops sprinkled along it crazy. Yeah, it's really neat. We should all go the hideaway

Brandon  55:45

Yes. A Forgotten corner of Springfield gathering series like it's it's by a mine by mine quarry rather to be more specific. Yes. Yeah, limestone quarry, just like right there. Like,

Collin  55:59

down. Yeah, boom. Yeah. So no, it's a really neat coffee shop. i This is where I do all of my in person interviews. And so I know the barista, very well at this point. I showed up today. And he's like, interviewing people. That's like, not the day. He was like, nice. Just drinking lots of coffee, bro. It's coffee. So I did do that. And then I went to the nature center and hiked around and then I went to a couple pet shops and said hello. And then I alright. Yeah. So it was it was pretty productive. To be at my office, which is fine.

Brandon  56:33

I did. I did like your Facebook post. And I had to plan to Shelby. Oh, very tough. Yeah. Yeah, it really

Collin  56:42

hurt me to say that. That was probably more than 20 years ago. And I didn't like that, like at all. What

Brandon  56:48

are you talking about?

Collin  56:49

So Aaron, and I were

Brandon  56:51

brand branded, doesn't have social media. Nerd. Astro, I am a nerd. It's fine.

Collin  56:58

We lit

Brandon  57:01

ever sabotages shoot machine. It's fine yet,

Collin  57:03

Aaron and I have we took them out to the nature center for a walk with me. And I don't know if you remember, but you come out of the nature center, go down those big steep steps. You go to the right, and that kind of goes around and then it does this down a hill that does a really big, really big hairpin turn back to the left. Well, yeah, we should go

Brandon  57:24

down like by that you like walk parallel to the highway for a little bit and then you go down towards the bottom?

Collin  57:30

Oh, no opposite way. No. Oh, okay. But if if you come out the steps from the danger center from the

Brandon  57:37

back or the front, the back, all cows can't fly. So you go back and you go Which way

Collin  57:42

to the right. And there's that little washboard that goes out around that tree where you can kind of look out into the valley below. Yeah. Anyway, so you go down there. There's it's there's a switchback down at the very bottom, and you can either go up the cliff to the long trail, or you can go left and keep going to the boardwalk. Yeah, is a river. Yeah. Right along that is this tree that's like, basically in the middle of the sidewalk. On the walk outside walk on the path. Yeah. Well, we were walking there with me. And there was like a five foot Black Snake, just like chest height on that tree. Me Me, of course, when like, oh, gosh, just stopped. And we eventually she like, held her hands over her eyes. And like we held on to her and we just ran by it screams

Brandon  58:36

like another random lady. That was like also coming behind us. We had a walk with. Yeah.

Collin  58:41

Or she was like cheering us on or something? I don't remember. Yeah. It was like she was also watching us. So like we weren't by ourselves during this, this procedure naturally.

Brandon  58:51

Of course. It's probably somebody around for the weird stuff, right? It's just Yeah.

Collin  58:59

Which was, which was fun. So I took a picture of that tree and posted about it today, because I laughed a lot when I saw that. And then I had to, like, at first I was like, Oh, it was like, what, 10 years ago? I was like, No, that was like 15 years ago. And I was like, Nope, that was the you know, this is bad. Anyway, I needed I know,

Brandon  59:16

I had that realization earlier today as well. We were talking about something. And I was like, Oh yeah, when I was in high school, I was like, I wasn't that long. Oh my god. Next year will be 20 years since I've graduated high school. holy crud monkeys don't like that.

Collin  59:33

No, I was

Brandon  59:34

just outside the distressing. year we had our 10 year high school reunion two years ago, but we couldn't have it because of the COVID often there I'll get invited I'm like really? You know, we I it's one of the things is like what I have gone? Probably not I was like, it was an incredibly long time ago. And now Now it's 12 years I'm like, Oh my God. Yeah, I'm I'm sitting in an 18 man. Like this she has to realize this is 2022 I was like, oh my oh no next year is 2023 I graduated in 2003 Oh, dang that's an unfortunate coincidence. I think that's what I think that's what led to my thought. Because I was thinking about the years and I was like, someone's like next year 2023 And I was like, Oh, that's really Yeah. Oh no, it can't be that good. Very bad. Danger

Collin  1:00:55

so that was probably my biggest takeaway from that realization as I was standing here staring at that tree was one belly laughing because of the gist of how absurd that scene was and then to crying on the inside a little bit because now anyway, I need to walk a little faster now.

Brandon  1:01:15

The sheer mean of that middleman breathing and then like okay, with me now. I remember that I thought that like

Collin  1:01:34

yeah, is a good one. It's a good one. Well, I think we should let Aaron go to bed since he has to be up early to grow. Sorry, Marcy, look we abided we did go too long. And it may go sleep so I need to shower first and I have Oh, no. Oh, Aaron just left. Okay. He really had she literally just left zoom.

Brandon  1:02:03

Is not he's like I'm showered by boom. Okay.

Collin  1:02:09

He had sand from his gum now.

Brandon  1:02:11

I think he probably just bumped something and I think

Collin  1:02:14

okay, anyway. We'll see.

Brandon  1:02:20

All right, let me do
